T.R.I.P. Guidelines

In exchange for the participating retailers generous gifts toward our children’s tuition, we agree to respect their TRIP policies.
Some retailers will accept the TRIP certificates as payment on credit card purchases, many do not. Be sure to check before buying.
Remember TRIP certificates are like cash- you will be assuming a risk if you send them through the mail.
Most TRIP retailers do not give cash back as change. This is really understandable, as you can see where this would tempt some people to take advantage of their generosity. Please remember to respect their TRIP policies when choosing your purchases and amounts.
The HCS TRIP committee buys our certificates from a SCRIP broker. In order to minimize your waiting time for delivery, we place orders as soon as possible. Please remember this when writing your checks. They will be deposited that same day, and the monies used to buy the certificates. Insufficient funds put a strain on that system.
Be sure to use an updated form. The retailers and the donated percentages change weekly. You can always get the “up-to-date” vendors at www.glscrip.com. This is our broker for most of our certificates.
A waver can be signed so that your child can place or pick up orders for you. However, TRIP cannot be responsible for the certificates once they leave our office. Please consider the responsibility you are placing on your child.
TRIP and SCRIP brokers will never replace certificates. Please treat them like cash, and keep careful track of them.
You will receive an earning statement quarterly to apply your credits to your tuition. Just enclose it with your payment, like a discount coupon! Families paying annually can add up earnings this year for next year’s tuition. Just be sure to let the committee know when you register that you pay annually… then you will get one earning statement in June.
ANYONE can participate in TRIP. They can choose a family of their choice to assist with tuition, the HCS School Board can choose a family, or they can donate to the General Fund. Any of these would be a WONDERFUL ministry!
